1. Do you recommend animation, special graphic displays, music or even movies on E-commerce sites?
a. No. Animated art, special graphic displays, music and movies waste visitors' time and use unnecessary resources. These effects may be considered artistic and even entertaining, however, for a business Web site, they are at the least annoying, and for most an excuse to click the "back browser" button and find another, friendlier site. If you're serious about selling your products online, you'll skip the fancy Web site effects and offer clear product information and descriptions easily accessible. Some of effects can even lock up a visitor's computer, or at the very least, cause long delays in page loading, especially for those who dial up to the Internet, and they are the majority. Many will visit from AOL.com, clocking in at a speed of 56K maximum.
2. How long will it take you to design an E-commerce site?
a. After receiving your text and graphics, we'll need a minimum of one week to complete most projects. Additional time may be needed to add special enhancements like the E-mail Subscription System or Site Search.
3. Once you submit my site to the search engines, how long will it take before I can find my page listed?
a. It can take from three to six months for a site to be listed in the major search engines, after we submit your URL. But sometimes a site can get indexed in less than 2 weeks.
4. How important is it to have your Web page submitted to search engines and Internet directories?
a. More than 90 percent of the people using the Internet query the 15 to 20 major search engines to find Web pages that interest them. They may have an idea of what they want, but usually don't have a specific Web site address in mind, and use the engines to get there. That's why it's important to submit your site to as many search engines (and Internet directories) as possible for maximum exposure.
7. How can we get high search engine positioning, within the top 30?
a. We have experience at search engine positioning, and for an additional $1200 (free with any Website design through May 15) we can work at optimizing your site for the best possible positioning for certain key words on many of the major search engines. However, we can't guarantee high positioning, but we'll do our best. And, if we can't get your Website positioning for certain terms, we won't charge you. Check our KDF Drinking Water Filter site http://thewaterexchange.net and you'll see it ranks within the top 5 in most major search engines for the terms KDF water filters and many other terms.
8. Can I use a PayPal account to accept charge cards for my sales over the Internet?
a. Yes, PayPal is an excellent option if you don't want to handle charge card processing on your own. A large number of people on the Internet have PayPal accounts, which makes it easy to pay for products or services over the Internet. You don't need a merchant charge card account, and PayPal provides a free shopping cart for selling your products or services online.
